an indie Café that serves specialty coffee (as an art form), has local and nonlocal musicians perform, displays artist work and has book and poetry readings.
The Salt Walter Taffy House
We moved into a house and the basement works great for shows. We just started doing this a few weeks ago. We can offer a place to sleep, a meal and friendship. There won't be a for sure payout the shows are going to be donation only but we won't take any money so we can give whatever we can to the out of town band/s. We are located in Kansas City right by The University of Missouri Kansas City and Rockhurst University. We only want to do a few a month, we can also help promote the show and try to get some local bands on it. If we can't have the show at our house anyone can still stay here and we can try to help you find somewhere else to play. All kinds of music are good for us, we do prefer experimental type music though. The best way to get a hold of us is via myspace.

I have a cool building that I would love to use as a venue for music, unusual performance or anything else that's interesting. It's a massive old historic lodge with 3 stories and a huge back yard. or music that doesn't need electricity, we host garden shows, acoustic
sets, even boot-stomp dances and moonshine balls at our own place
(teetery brick castle) in the post-collapse cement playground of north
st louis. we'll host anything and everyone we can: snake oil salesmen
on speaking tours, films, art shows, tall bike explorations, more
boats down that big river... louder sets, punk/noise/metal/whatever,
write us, we'll get you in touch with our friends & their spaces in
other parts of town including but not limited to basements, bars,
clubs, restaurants, print shops, tiny theaters, community centers,
bakeries, jungle gyms... expect some friendly people who like to get
down.
